CM-Sun

Sun is from Seoul, South Korea. She graduated from Korea University with a B.S. and M.S. in chemistry, where she worked on developing fluorescent probes for intracellular imaging of drug localization. After graduating, she worked at SK Chemicals as a research scientist, synthesizing polyesters with bio-renewable monomers. In 2015, she started her Ph.D. at Yale University under the guidance of Professor Jonathan Ellman, where she worked on the total synthesis of opioids and methodology development for accessing quaternary carbons using cobalt catalysis. Outside the lab, Sun enjoys trying out new recipes, reading books, and spending time with her family and friends.
