Meet Garrison

Garrison was born in Winston-Salem, NC and completed his B.Sc. in Chemistry at Campbell University in 2014. As an undergraduate, Garrison worked on the synthesis of peropyrene derivatives for solar cell applications under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Blue.  The summer before his senior year, Garrison participated in an REU program at the University of Cincinnati working on the design of heterobimetallic catalysts for the water-gas shift reaction.  In September of 2014, he started his PhD with Dr. Bruce Arndtsen at McGill University where he developed novel metal-catalyzed carbonylation reactions.  When not in the lab, Garrison enjoys playing tennis, running, and trying out new restaurants.
