Izzy grew up in Armonk, NY. She graduated from Middlebury College in 2017 with a B.A. in chemistry, where she worked with Prof. Richard Bunt investigating palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic aminations and the synthesis of novel BIPHEP chiral ligands. After college, Izzy received an Intramural Research Training Award from the National Institutes of Health to work with Dr. James Inglese and Dr. Ganesha Bantukallu on the synthesis of chemical probes for the treatment of parasitic infections. Izzy is an avid baseball and tennis fan, and when not in the lab enjoys running, biking, playing tennis, hiking, and cooking.
