Meet Anna

Anna was born in Germany and grew up in a small Bavarian village. She studied chemistry at the University of Regensburg, where she completed her undergraduate studies working with Prof. Oliver Reiser as a synthetic organic chemist before joining the group of Prof. Alexander Breder for her master’s and PhD. Supported by a fellowship from the Cusanuswerk, her doctoral research focused on the activation of homopolar bonds and the concept of σ-bond quantum poling.

During her studies, Anna gained international research experience in physical chemistry and spectroscopy as a visiting researcher in the group of Prof. Manabu Abe at Hiroshima University. She joined the Doyle group as a Feodor Lynen Postdoctoral Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

Outside of the lab, Anna enjoys a good mix of activity and downtime, from following different sports to listening to or playing music in various settings. She is equally happy at a live concert as she is cooking with friends or getting overly competitive during game nights.
