Meet Emily

Emily is originally from California where she obtained her undergraduate degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2019. At Cal Poly, Emily worked with Prof. Taylor Haynes studying copper-catalyzed tandem aerobic oxidation reactions. For her PhD, Emily moved to the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor working in the lab of Prof. Corinna Schindler. As an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and Rackham Predoctoral Fellow, Emily’s doctoral research focused on the development and study of new visible-light-mediated [2+2]-cycloadditions to form azetidines and azetines. Outside of the lab, Emily likes to knit, hike, try new restaurants and coffee shops, and bake.
