Meet Oliver
Oliver grew up in London, UK. He graduated with a first-class BSc and integrated Masters, MChem in Chemistry from the University of Leeds in 2018. While studying he received a scholarship from the Wellcome Trust and undertook placements at the University of Alberta, Canada and GlaxoSmithKline, Stevenage. After graduating he joined AstraZeneca, Macclesfield as a scientist in Chemical Development working on a range of route design and process design projects to support drug substance manufacturing. Oliver was promoted to senior scientist in 2021 and now works in AstraZeneca’s large scale synthetic chemistry team in Gothenburg, Sweden. As a visiting scholar within the Doyle group, Oliver is currently working on C-H functionalization using photoredox catalysis. Outside of work, he likes hiking and exploring.
